The Texaco has cabled to Douglass also about the security-monies. Their point is that anything which damages the interests of the oil buyers the Texaco's Chinese Agents damages also their interests, as the Chinese mind is apt to connect the one, the Texas Oil, with the other, the money; even though the agents know that it is only the liquidation of R.B.& Co. which caused their troubles.

I am not losing sight of the Reise matter am only waiting a favourable opportunity to bring my/their request forward, because, once asked definitely by me, refusal would be very awkward, as you will understand.
